The No. 8 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team posted the eighth-highest away meet score in school history in its 197.225-196.150 victory over the No. 23 Penn State Nittany Lions Saturday afternoon in University Park, Pa. The undefeated Huskers improve to 6-0 overall on the season.
Penn State posted season-high team scores on vault, bars, and floor, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Huskers.
Jessie DeZiel and Emily Wong of Nebraska went head-to-head in the all-around, coming out with identical season-high scores of 39.575. DeZiel stuck her vault for a 9.95 to tie for the vault crown with Penn State freshman Emma Sibson. Wong tied for the uneven bars title with PSU senior Kassidy Stauder after both scored 9.925's. Staduer also earned a share of the beam title, tying with Nebraska's Jennifer Lauer. Nebraska's Hollie Blanske and Wong tied for top honors on floor.
