Sloan's 10 leads Florida past Kentucky


Florida outscored Kentucky by almost two points tonight and raked in yet another 10.0 score from sophomore Bridget Sloan, this time on beam. Sloan also won bars with a 9.9 and all-around with an impressive 39.675. Kytra Hunter won vault and floor with a 9.925 on both events. The final team score was 197.175 to 195.45.

Sloan, Hunter, and Alaina Johnson finished first, second, and third in the all-around, all three with outsanding performances. 14 out of the 15 podium places went to the Gators tonight, their streak only interrupted by Kentucky's Holly Cunningham who took third on vault. Florida's 197.175 is their highest away meet score of their three road meets this season. 

While Kentucky took the loss, they scored their highest team score of the season. They started strong on vault led by Cunningham's 9.85 and they received their highest vault team score of the year. They were solid the rest of the meet and did not have to count any falls or major mishaps but they were not able to outshine Florida.
