Season high propels Alabama past Georgia

A crowd of over 13,000 fans saw their Crimson Tide extended their home winning streak with a come from behind win over the Georgia Gym Dogs. Alabama posted a season high 197.5 to Georgia’s 196.825.
 
The #1 bars team in the nation continues to impress with a team score of 49.4. Keira Brown bounced back from a fall last week to post a 9.925 for the Gym Dogs. Chelsea Davis and Brittany Rogers both scored a 9.9 to give the Gym Dogs and early lead over Bama. Alabama began the meet on vault with a 49.3. Diandra Milliner stuck a beautiful vault to post a 9.925. A trio of 9.85’s for Clark, DeMeo and Bailey gave Alabama a strong start on vault.
 
In the 2nd rotation Georgia and Alabama went routine for routine as, Alabama posted a 49.35 on bars and Georgia a 49.30 on vault. A pair of sophomores lead the way on vault for the Gym Dogs as Brandie Jay scored a 9.9 followed by Brittany Rogers 9.875. Kaitlyn Clark in the anchor position for Bama scored a team high of 9.925 followed by a pair of 9.85’s from Bailey and Sims.
 
In the 3rd rotation these two teams continued to keep it close both posting a team score of 49.225, Alabama on beam and Georgia on floor. Alabama headed to beam trailing the Gym Dogs where they were able to keep pace with Georgia posting a 49.225. Aja Sims andKaitlyn Clark highlighted the rotation for the Crimson Tide both posting a 9.875 on beam. A pair of 9.875’s from Morgan Reynolds andMary Beth Box led the way for the Gym Dogs.
 
 
In the final rotation the Gym Dogs having to count a fall were not able to hold onto their slim lead over Alabama. Georgia posted a 48.9 on beam led by seniors Lindsay Cheek(9.925) and Kaylan Earls (9.95). A season high of 49.625 on floor propelled Alabama past Georgia in a come from behind victory.Diandra Milliner and Kim Jacob’s capped off the rotation with a pair of 9.95’s.  
 
Alabama posted a season high 197.5 to extended their home winning streak over Georgia’s 196.825. The Gym Dogs will fall to 3-4 on the season and 0-4 on the road. Alabama will move to 4-2 on the season.
