The #6 Georgia Gym Dogs welcome the #20 Kentucky Wildcats to Stegeman Coliseum for an SEC meet this Saturday at 4pm.

 
Georgia-Kentucky Series 
This marks the 76th all-time meeting between Georgia and Kentucky with the Gym Dogs holding a 74-0-1 advantage. The two teams tied in last year's meet in Lexington. Georgia led by .825 entering the final rotation, but had to count a fall on beam. The Gym Dogs beat Kentucky, 197.225-193.125, in UK's last trip to Athens. 

Last Weekend

Although Georgia held the lead through three events, they fell to Florida on the road, posting a score of a 196.7. Despite the loss, the Gym Dogs turned in their highest bars (49.6) and floor (49.35) scores of the season.

Kentucky posted a season high on three events last week in route to a team score of 195.150 in their win over Missouri. The wildcats posted season highs on vault (48.90), bars (48.875), and floor (49.125).

 

This weekend

Lindsay Cheek is off to an impressive start to her senior season, scoring 9.9 or higher in 11 of her 15 routines. Cheek will look to continue that strong start at home this weekend to help her team to victory. Georgia will be looking to regain their winning ways with another SEC team in town. After having to count a fall last week on beam, the Gym Dogs will be out to prove that they are a strong beam team.

Senior all-arounder Audrey Harrison will provide leadership and experience for her team as they head into a tough SEC environment. Harrison will lead by example to help her team gain their first ever victory over the perennial powerhouse Gym Dogs on the road. A pair of Sophomores, Tiara Phipps and Amy Roemmele will look continue their strong performances from last weekend.
