Simone Biles Featured at Fundraising Event for HNI


Local and national celebrities, Olympic gymnasts and sponsors will converge at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9  to kick off preparations for the 20th anniversary Houston National Invitational World Gymnastics Competition.

Guests on hand include 2014 Crowned World Champion Simone Biles, writer and politician Kinky Friedman, 2008 USA Olympic Bronze medalist Kevin Tan and other prominent gymnasts, coaches and wide array of business sponsors and community leaders.

The event raises funds to support the All Academy Championships that features Army, Navy and Air Force Gymnastics Teams, as well Elite gymnasts, The Wounded Warrior Project, and many scholarships and booster clubs. Tickets and more information for the fundraising party can be found here.

The Houston National Invitational will be held January 31 – Feb. 2, 2014 and top Elite Gymnasts will compete for more than $50,000 in cash prizes and other prestigious awards including the valued Open Team Cup Competition.

This year’s competition will feature USA World Team Member, 2008 Olympic Silver and Bronze Medalist and 2012 Olympian Jonathan Horton! Also features National Champion and 2012 Olympic Team Alternate Chris Brooks. In addition, other gymnasts from around the world and the US on the National and Jr. National teams will compete. Many junior competitors at the HNI go on to become Olympians and college scholarship recipients.
