Top Recruit Kimble to Michigan

One of the nation's top men's recruits, Marvin Kimble of Swiss Turners Gymnastics in Wisconsin, has verbally committed to the #1 preseason ranked University of Michigan. Kimble is a current member of the U.S. Junior National Team and is due to graduate in 2014.
Kimble is following the lead of club teammate and fellow National Team member Dmitri Belanovski who committed to Michigan on October 7th. Together, Kimble and Belanovski have helped Swiss Turners win the past two Level 10 National Team Titles. Most recently, Belanovski won the P&G Championships Junior 17-18 All Around, Still Rings, and Parallel Bars titles.

During the 2013 season, Kimble absolutely dominated the Junior Olympic National Championships, winning the all around and every event except for vault where he earned the bronze medal. At the 2013 P&G Championships, Kimble was leading the junior 15-16 division after day one and was invited to compete in the Finals of the Senior Division. He finished 15th out of 42 senior athletes. However, his total scores would have won the junior 15-16 division by 4.75 points.
The University of Michigan men's team are the reigning NCAA Champions and home of World and Olympic Finalist Sam Mikulak. Both Kimble and Belanovsky say their ultimate goal in gymnastics is to make an Olympic team. With the addition of these top two recruits, Michigan will have a strong group of Olympic hopefuls for 2016.
