San Jose, Calif., June 30, 2012 – Bridget Sloan withdrew from the Olympic Trials after injuring her elbow during warm-ups on June 29. According to Dr. Larry Nassar, USA Gymnastics medical coordinator, withdrawing from the competition was in Sloan’s best interest. She had an MRI yesterday, which confirmed an elbow sprain with swelling. Sloan will seek further medical treatment at home with Dr. James Bicos to prepare for her college gymnastics career.

Sloan will head to the University of Florida in the fall.
