Ashleigh Brennan held on to win the 2012 Australian National Championship, scoring a total of 115.25 over the course of two days.  

A comfortable lead after the first day of competition helped Brennan fend off second place Emily Little (113.3) whose second day total was a mere .3 behind Brennan.  Mary-Anne Monckton (111.5) finished third, after improving her all-around score by more than two points from the first day of competition.

Several key players and returners for Australia did not compete in the all-around, including Lauren Mitchell, who scratched the uneven bars and vaulted only a full-twisting Yurchenko.

Chloe Sims continued to look strong in her comeback to elite competition, hitting a difficult bars routine for the second night in a row and sticking her 1 1/2-twisting Tsukahara on vault.

Daria Joura, another gymnast on the comeback trail, competed on vault and floor exercise, showing an energetic and stylish routine.  Despite her enthusiasm, Joura suffered a fall on her double pike dismount.

The Australian Championships wrap up on Sunday with the individual apparatus finals.
