A chat with Germany's Lisa Hill prior to the 2012 American Cup

6th place American Cup finisher, Lisa Hill, on her thoughts before the 2012 American Cup

Gymnastike caught up with 19-year-old Lisa Hill of Germany the day before the American Cup.  Lisa was excited to be part of this major international competition.  She finished in 6th place.  Here’s a transcript of the interview, part of which was done through an interpreter.

Gymnastike:  How do you feel going into your first American Cup?

Lisa:  It’s amazing for me and incredible that I can start here at this event.

Gymnastike:  What are your goals here?

Lisa:  I only hope that I can do my program and that I will enjoy it, and yes.

Gymnastike:  What events or skills have you been most focusing on in getting ready for this competition?

Lisa:  It’s an all-around competition so it’s no special focusing.

Gymnastike:  Do you have any upgrades in your routines since your last meet?

Lisa:  No.  I’m practicing but at this competition, no new skills or elements.

Gymnastike:  What are you most looking forward to about being in New York?

Lisa:  Of course the competition is the most important thing.

Gymnastike:  Thank you very much.  Good luck.

Lisa:  Thank you.
