Former legendary coach Don Peters banned from USA Gymnastics for life

Amid allegations that former legendary gymnastics coach Don Peters sexually abused at least three of his teenage gymnasts in the 1980s, USA Gymnastics has banned Peters for life and removed him from the Gymnastics Hall of Fame.  Allegedly, Peters, had sexual relations with three teenage gymnasts, including former national team member, Doe Yamashiro, during the 1980s.  During this same decade, Peters built his gym, SCATS, into a powerhouse and coached the 1984 Olympic team to a record eight medals, including the U.S.'s first all-around gold.  In the wake of the allegations, Peters resigned from both SCATS and USA Gymnastics in late October 2011.
