Don Peters Resigns From SCATS and USA Gymnastics Amid Sexual Abuse Allegations
In a follow-up piece to the accusations of sexual abuse against legendary coach, Don Peters (see first article, here), the Orange County Register reports that Peters has resigned as a USA Gymnastics member and as director and coach at SCATS.
Peters is accused of having had sexual relationships with three of his teenage gymnasts at SCATS, including former national team member, Doe Yamashiro, in the 1980s. USA Gymnastics reportedly will hold a hearing on November 11, 2011 to determine whether Peters should be banned from gymnastics for life.
