Class of 2011 Gymnastics Hall of Fame


A few special gymnastics legends will be honored this summer by being inducted into the Hall of Fame as the Class of 2011. Check out this year's class of inductees for both International Gymnastics and USA Gymnastics.
The Class of 2011 International Gymnastics honorees:
- Alexander Tkatchev (Russia) – 2-time Olympic Champion and winner of 12 World and Olympic medals from 1978-1981. The first to perform a tkatchev release move on high bar which is widely used in both men's and women's gymnastics today.
- Lavinia Milosovici (Romania) – Winner of 19 World and Olympic medals from 1991-1996
- Leonid Arkayev (Russia) – Legendary coach of the Soviet and Russian Olympic teams from 1972-2004. His gymnasts produced over 300 world and olympic medals and he is widely considered the most successful coach in the world.
- Steffi Kraeker (Germany) – Winner of 10 World and Olympic medals between 1976 and 1981
- Michel Leglise (France) will be awarded the International Order of Merit for his contributions as the lead medical advisor for the International Gymnastics Federation for 30 years.
