USA has Bid to Host the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships
There's a chance that the annual World Gymnastics Championships may return to American soil! It has just been announced that USA Gymnastics is bidding to host the 2015 world championships, a full-team event that will be the main qualifier for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. If the U.S. bid is successful, worlds would be held in early October in Orlando at the Amway Center, which opened last fall and is home to the NBA's Orlando Magic.

The United States has hosted Worlds three times with the last one being in Anaheim, CA in 2003 when the US women won their first world team title. The FIG will choose a 2015 host next month. Paris and Glasgow, Scotland, also are bidding for the event. Read more on AP.

Also stay tuned next month to find out where the 2011 World Championships will end up. They've been scheduled to Tokyo but in light of the recent tsunami tragedy in Japan they may be moved to another location. Rumor is Moscow is the front runner. The FIG has announced they will make that decision in May.
