Brittany Johnson of Texas Woman’s University won the all-around on the first day of the USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate Championships in the Cadet West Gymnasium at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. In addition, two teams from each semifinal round advanced to the team finals on Saturday, April 9, and the top 10 finishers for each apparatus will compete in the individual event finals on Sunday, April, 10.

 

The four schools competing in the team finals are: Seattle Pacific University, Texas Woman’s University, U.S. Air Force Academy and University of Bridgeport. The University of Bridgeport, the defending national team champion, had the highest team score for the first semifinal at 192.775. Then Texas Woman’s University not only had the highest score for the second semifinal session at 194.125, but they also had the day’s highest team score.
