Here at gymnastike coverage of the 2011 gymnastics competition season is beginning before the clock even rolls to 2011! We are excited to share that Gymnastike will provide video coverage of one of the earliest meets of the season, the 2010 Christmas on the Chesapeake Women’s Gymnastics Meet – Maryland’s premiere three-day competition hosted at the Baltimore Convention Center. The competition is hosted by Docksiders Gymnastics Club who you recently saw in Workout Wednesday here on gymnastike.

Christmas on the Chesapeake is one of the largest competitions on the east coast. Last year’s event featured more than 1,600 gymnasts from as far north as Massachusetts and as far south as North Carolina.

Some of the top teams competing this year include Brestyans American Gymnastics, ACE Gymnastics, Chelsea Piers, ENA Paramus, Excalibur, Hill's, North Stars, Paragon, Parkettes, Rebound, Richmond Olympiad, World Class, Xcel Gymnastics, and of course the host team of Docksiders who have produced numerous Regional and National Champions. It will be a great chance to take an early look at these gymnasts and their progress from last year, before the optional season kicks into high gear in January!
