Susan Jackson of LSU was named the recipient of the prestigious Honda Sports Award for gymnastics as the nation's top collegiate female gymnast. Susan was the 2010 NCAA National Champion for both All-Around and Beam. She is the first gymnast in LSU history to win the Honda Award.

Jackson was voted over three other senior nominees: Carly Janiga of Stanford, Brandi Personett of Penn State and Sarah Shire of Missouri.

Fun fact: Susan Jackson is a former teammate of fellow nominee Brandi Personett. They actually moved from Texas to Florida and lived in a hotel together for a short time during their elite careers after their coaches in Houston were fired. Brandi talks about it in this interview. Brandi also revealed in this interview that she is considering a return to elite. If anyone can do it, she's the one.
