2017 NCAA Perfect 10s: Vault And Bars Edition
With the 2017 NCAA season in the books, we're taking a look back at the outstanding routines that earned perfect 10s. There was a lot of new elite and Olympic talent in the NCAA this year, and that translated into some great routines that were rewarded with 10.0s.

We're starting with the 10.0s earned on vault and bars this season:

Vault

With the change to the start value of the Yurchenko full, earning a 10.0 on vault has become more rare and special. Many gymnasts are now performing a Yurchenko 1 1/2 or even a Yurchenko double. It is great to see so many difficult vaults in the NCAA. Let's take a look at the four gymnasts who earned a perfect 10 on vault this season.

Ashleigh Gnat (LSU)

The LSU senior performed a huge, powerful Yurchenko double full for the past two seasons. Gnat has great height and distance, and when she stuck the landing, she often clinched a perfect score. Gnat received three perfect 10s on vault this season.

Maggie Nichols (Oklahoma)

Nichols has an incredible Yurchenko 1 1/2 that was near perfect week in and week out. With a great ability to stick along with huge height and distance, Nichols scored a perfect 10 two times this season.

Alex McMurtry (Florida)

McMurtry's powerful Yurchenko double full has incredible height and distance. She also has great form throughout the entire vault. McMurtry earned a perfect 10 on vault one time this season.

Maddie Karr (Denver)

Bars

Bars saw the most perfect 10s on any event this season, with 11 total. This group of eight young ladies showed beautiful lines, great amplitude on their releases, and stuck dismounts to earn perfect 10s on bars.

Kyla Ross (UCLA)

Ross continued to prove she is an outstanding bar worker by earning two perfect 10s on bars this season. She had great difficulty throughout her entire routine and found a way to stick her dismount to earn two perfect 10s on bars in just her freshman season.

Maggie Nichols (Oklahoma)

Nichols has outstanding difficulty throughout her entire bar routine that is a joy to watch. She has beautiful lines and an effortless swing, capped off with a sky high double layout dismount. Nichols' 10 on bars was the fourth event that she earned a 10.0 on this season.

Peng-Peng Lee (UCLA)

Lee is another gymnast who brings great difficulty to bars and an effortless swing. Lee is a joy to watch on bars and brings another outstanding routine to the Bruin lineup. Her experience and talent is outstanding on bars. Lee earned a perfect 10 two times this season on bars.

Wofford has been a bar specialist her entire career at Oklahoma. In her senior season, Wofford earned that long-awaited 10.0 on bars. Wofford has always had beautiful lines and outstanding handstands throughout her routine. What a great reward for an outstanding gymnast to watch on bars.

Alex McMurtry (Florida)
