DWTS Quarterfinals: Judges Look For More 'Raw' Expression From Simone Biles
On week eight of "Dancing with the Stars," Simone Biles and her partner Sasha Farber performed two dances on trio night. The first dance was a foxtrot to "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction:

Judge Len Goodman described the performance as "full of youthful exuberance," and Carrie Ann Inaba added, "Your skills are undeniable."  However, Julianne Hough noted, "I don't know if the smile is authentic. I want to see rawness come out."

The duo received a total of 36 out of 40 points.

For dance two, Biles and Farber were joined by Brittany Cherry for a paso doble trio. They danced to "Don't Let Me Down" by The Chainsmokers.

They scored another solid 36 out of 40, but Biles received more criticism from the judges regarding her expression in the dance. Inaba said, "You let out your signature smile after you did your trick, which was great… but I felt you uncertain a little bit. Be careful. Sometimes you dance like a metronome, you're so on the beat. I want to see if you can play a little bit, holding and extending."

Biles told host Tom Bergeron, "Smiling doesn't win you gold medals."

Biles told reporters following the show, "I've spent my whole entire life in the gym training for something I've dreamed of since I was a little girl… I think they think because I'm 20 I should've gone through those life experiences, but I missed out on all of that and that's why I'm taking a year off and am trying to find it."

Team Golden Giggles survived elimination and will be back to dance next week as part of the final four. Vote for Simone and Sasha by calling 1-800-868-3412, visiting at ABC.com, or via the show's Facebook page.
