May 4 Set To Be 'D-D Breaux Day' In Donaldsville, LA

BATON ROUGE – The city of Donaldsonville will honor LSU gymnastics head coach D-D Breaux for her remarkable 40 seasons at the helm of the program and the squad's historic 2017 season on Thursday, May 4.

D-D Breaux Day will take place in Breaux's hometown of Donaldsonville beginning at 8:45 a.m. with Mayor Leroy Sullivan for a prayer breakfast followed by mass at Ascension Catholic Church. Other activities throughout the day include a stop at Donaldsonville High School and a presentation at the Ascension Parish Council.

The day will conclude with a banquet at Palazzo Bernardo in honor of Breaux. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling the Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce at 225-473-4814.

Breaux and the Tigers wrapped up the most successful season in school history and finished as the NCAA national runner-up for the second-straight year. LSU won the SEC regular season and tournament titles for a historic sweep of the league. Ashleigh Gnat, Sarah Finnegan and Kennedi Edney also brought home NCAA individual titles for the most in a single season in school history.
