Boomer Sooner

Oklahoma put together a dominating performance at Saturday's meet, as the Sooners topped their closest competition by more than five points. The difference maker came on the vault, where Oklahoma posted a massive 74.050, which is the second-best score this season on the event for the Sooners.
They pulled ahead even further on parallel bars after posting a 72.600--also OU's second-highest score of the season.

Individually, Oklahoma had a huge day as well. The Sooners men brought home individual titles on floor, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. Sophomore sensation Yul Moldauer brought back titles on floor exercise (14.750), still rings (15.400) and parallel bars (15.500) in addition to his second-place finish in the all-around (87.600).

Freshman Matt Wenske earned the title on vault (15.050), while sophomore Levi Anderson won the event title on high bar (15.000).

Modi Shines For The Cardinal

Senior Akash Modi was the standout performer for Stanford at the conference championships, winning the all-around with an 88.000. Modi was also honored as the conference's Gymnast of the Year for the fourth straight year. He is the first gymnasts in MPSF history to accomplish the feat and is the third overall athlete to do so, regardless of the sport. Modi had many standout performances, including parallel bars where he finished second by 0.05, high bar where he tied for third, and this strong floor routine:

The Cardinal's score of 426.850 was the team's second highest of the season. Stanford had the top team totals of the night on both floor (71.800), where it is the top team in the country, and on high bar (71.350).

Sophomore Josiah Eng secured second place on still rings with a 15.100. He was the only other Stanford gymnast to score over the 15.0 mark, and his performance tied his season best. The Cardinal had a season-high performance on rings, where they posted a 72.250.

Golden Bears Grab Season High

California had its best meet of the season with its 410.100 and its second straight score over the 400 mark. The Golden Bears also came away with season-high totals on pommel horse (66.050), vault (70.850), and parallel bars (68.850).

California was led by Aaron Mah and Yordan Aleksandrov in the all-around. Mah finished fifth with a total of 82.750, while Aleksandrov totaled an 82.350. Mah posted a team-best 14.050 on floor exercise to tie for ninth.

Aleksandrov had his team's best scores on still rings, parallel bars, and high bar with scores over the 14.0 mark on all three events. He finished fifth overall on parallel bars and tied for seventh on high bar.

Wang Posts Stellar Performance For Falcons

Air Force's Tim Wang put together a solid meet for the Falcons and won the individual event title on pommel horse. He is the second Air Force gymnast to win an event title at the MPSF Championships -- both wins have come the past two years on pommel horse.

Wang, who posted his second-highest all-around total, finished fourth in the all-around with an 84.300. He finished eighth on floor exercise with a 14.100, fourth on vault with a 14.700, and tied for seventh on parallel bars with a 13.950.

The senior wasn't the only individual standout for the Falcons. Sophomore Lukas Texeira finished sixth on high bar after posting a 14.450, while junior Fletcher Braunton tied for seventh on still rings with a 14.300.

On To The NCAA Championships

The NCAA men's gymnastics championships will take place on April 21-22 in West Point, New York, on the campus of the United States Military Academy. Oklahoma is the two-time defending champion, and the Sooners will be looking for their 11th overall title.
