Meet Preview: No. 9 Georgia Against No. 3 Florida
It's rivalry week in the Southeastern Conference, and the third-ranked Florida Gators are set to host the No. 9 Georgia Gymdogs on Friday, February 10, at 6:45 PM at Exactech Arena in Gainesville, FL.

Last Friday At Alabama:
Florida received its first loss of the season, despite not scoring lower than a 9.725 on all four events. In front of 14,423 fans, Alabama turned in a season-best score of 197.825 to Florida's 197.425, which is the Gators' top road meet score of the season. It was a close meet throughout the first three rotations, but Alabama's floor performance took the lead when Kiana Winston scored a perfect 10.0 on floor exercise.

Florida junior Rachel Slocum scored a 9.925 on vault, which shared the event title with Alabama's Nickie Guerrero. Gators junior Kennedy Baker scored a 9.95 on floor exercise to tie with the Tide's Aja Sims. Junior Alex McMurtry reached new heights on uneven bars for Florida with a score of 9.90, but Winston scored a season-high 9.95. Freshman Amelia Hundley scored a 9.90 on balance beam, making it Florida's highest score on the event, but Alabama's Nickie Guerrero scored a 9.95 to take the title.

Florida head coach Jenny Rowland on the Gators' performance against Alabama:
It's our first SEC road meet of the season and I thought this team did a phenomenal job on the road ... The team fought for every 10th, every landing. This was a great experience -- in front of a big crowd on the road, tight meet all the way through -- and the team will gain from this experience.

Florida vs. Georgia:
The Georgia Gymdogs are coming off a win against Kentucky 196.500-196.150. Georgia currently has a 17-meet win streak against Florida. After having four meets at home already, the Gymdogs are looking to prove themselves on the road. As for Florida, the team has come down with stomach bug after the Alabama meet last Friday and is taking it easy in practice to prepare for this week's matchup.

What To Look Forward To:
  • Georgia's Morgan Reynold performing all-around. Reynold has a signature move on balance beam and a solid floor exercise routine.
  • Georgia's Vivi Baballis jazz hands on floor exercise.
  • Florida is having an Alumni Night -- a bunch of Gator Greats will be in attendance to watch the meet.
  • Florida freshman Sierra Alexandra had her first start of the season on vault against Alabama. Alexandra is looking to compete in the O'Dome for the first time.
  • Florida's Alex McMurtry is practicing her floor routine and might compete all-around this week.

This is a top-10 SEC dual meet you would not want to miss!
