Get a competitive edge with our new judging series "Judge's Corner." In this video feature, we will give our viewers an inside look at routines, tips, and techniques from the eyes of esteemed judges in the gymnastics world.

We're kicking off our series with World Champion and Olympic medalist now coach, mentor, and brevet-rated judge Chellsie Memmel.




After an incredibly successful elite career, Memmel has continued to be involved in gymnastics through coaching and judging meets of all levels. This year, she judged the Secret U.S. Classic, P&G Championships, and the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. She also represented USA judging at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy. While she is an expert in elite, she judges all levels and has even judged down to level one and two.

Memmel will talk us through routines on all four events and walk us through deductions and points of error. She will explain what sets amazing routines apart from good routines and how gymnasts can get higher scores.

These videos are helpful for gymnasts and coaches looking for the finer, technical aspects of the routines, but they are also great tutorials for parents to better understand their daughters' sport.
