The No. 1 ranked Florida Gators 2016 SEC home opener against No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide takes place this Friday, Jan. 29th at 6:45 p.m. ET. This is the first visit to Gainesville for Alabama’s Head Coach Dana Duckworth but she is bringing along five All-Americans including senior Lauren Beers who scored a 9.9 on the floor exercise against Arkansas last week.

Last week against Arkansas, Alabama produced season-best scores on both the uneven bars and vault, earning 49.4 and 49.3 respectively.  Kiana Winston was a huge contributor, scoring a 9.9 on bars and a 9.875 on vault.

Florida is coming off a highlight-filled first SEC road meet at Auburn. They topped the Tigers 197.075-195.9 to take the conference win. Two Gators received SEC honors for their performances in Auburn - Alex McMurtry was named Specialist of the Week, and for the third consecutive week Bridget Sloan was named Gymnast of the Week. Watch for them, and sophomore standout Kennedy Baker who's massive tumbling often seals the show.

Bridget Sloan is looking to hit all her routines as well as she can. With this being the 4th meet in the season, Sloan is going to stay calm, have fun, and enjoy every minute of it.

“Alabama is always one of the best meets for us, it is a huge rivalry school, so it's something to look forward to, and also with it being home it’s another opportunity for the freshman to get out with a home crowd," Sloan said earlier this week.
