Simone Biles Uncut: Advice From Lexie Priessman
Our recent FloFilms documentary features Simone Biles' rise to stardom including her epic 2015. While this series covered many aspects of her life and career, there are always stories that get left on the cutting room floor. In this category is an anecdote from 2011.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Simone Biles is human. She not only throws skills that seem to defy physics, but she does them with ease and consistency, dominating nearly every competition she enters. She’s now the three-time World All-Around Champion and has more world gold medals than any other female in the history of World Championships. But there was a time when Biles didn't dominate. Let’s take a look back at 2011 when Biles could barely make it through a bar routine.

Bars was never Biles’ best event and she recalls a funny story from 2011 when Lexie Priessman gave her some words of encouragement to help her catch a Tkatchev.

Biles went on to place 14th all-around at the 2011 Visa Championships with a 108.1. Priessman ended up in fourth with a 115.1 total. Katelyn Ohashi took the junior all-around title that year with a 120.95. Biles recalls being nervous around the other experienced elites, including Ohashi, but also looking up to them.

Jump ahead to 2015 and relive much more with Biles in our recent documentary Simone Biles: Golden Girl.
