The NorCal Classic took place today in San Jose, California and featured five schools in competition: San Jose State University, UC-Berkeley, Sacramento State University, Stanford University, and UC-Davis. In a phenomenal performance, the UC-Berkeley Bears won the competition with an overall score of 195.575. Stanford came in second with a 194.800, followed by Sacramento State with 194.325, UC-Davis with 192.700, and San Jose State with 191.800.

Stanford sophomore Elizabeth Price won the all-around title with a 39.500. Price had a hugely successful meet, posting no lower than a 9.85 on any event, and scoring 9.9 on both bars and floor. Placing second in the all-around was Lauren Rice from Sacramento State with a 38.95, and third was Taylor Rice from Stanford with a 38.35. Lauren Rice's high score came on floor, where she scored a 9.875. Taylor Rice performed a beautiful bar routine to score a 9.85.

The Cal Bears stood out on all four events, but had a particularly strong performance on floor, where they totaled a 49.100. Junior Jessica Howes led the team on this event, scoring a 9.875, a career best for her. On vault, the team finished with a 49.00, led by sophomore Toni Ann Williams who scored a 9.85 for her yurchenko full. Williams also scored big for the Bears on bars (9.8) and floor (9.825).

Stanford's top event was bars, where the scored the highest total event score of the meet - a 49.150. In addition to Price's 9.9 and Rice's 9.85, the team's score was bolstered by performances by fellow teammates Nikki McNair, Ivana Hong and Dare Maxwell .

Sacramento State turned out an exciting and energy-filled floor performance, totaling a 48.975. Top scores came from Lauren Rice and Jesse Williams, who tied her career high of 9.85.

UC-Davis was solid on all four events, but impressed on floor and vault in particular. Sophomore Amanda Presswood contributed a 9.775 on floor, while junior Katy Nogaki contributed the same score on vault.

San Jose State had their strongest numbers of floor, finishing with a 48.950. Freshman Ellie Pascoe-Long had a very impressive breakout performance, scoring highly on the power events. She received a 9.85 on floor and a 9.725 on vault.
