Doc Ali’s Tight Mind Monday 6-24-16: Fight

This is the week to beat negative thinking. The mental toughness tool of the week is FIGHT.

In gymnastics you fight every day. You fight to push yourself to do new skills. You fight to stretch your body further than it’s gone before. Now, I want you to fight negative thoughts that have been stopping you from reaching your goals.

This week have ZERO TOLERANCE for a loose mind. Loose mind is any type of negative thinking including fear, frustration, complaining, and self-doubt.  Remember, the biggest thing stopping you from overcoming any obstacle is your mind.

This week:

1. Recognize your negative thought.

2. Stop what you are doing.

3. Say to yourself “I am a fighter,” out loud or under your breath.

4. Fill your head with positive thoughts.Your body always follows your mind, so make sure your self-talk is motivational and firm.

5. Straighten your back and stand up straight.

6. Beat that negative thought!

Do not speak to yourself with weakness. Be an inspiration to YOURSELF and command your body to do what you want it to do.

When you learn how to talk to yourself with Fight, even the hardest days turn into opportunities to make yourself physically and mentally stronger.
