Doc Ali’s Tight Mind Monday 5-9-16: Tight Mind

Every correction you receive is about body position. Is your body “tight” and in position or is it “loose” and out of proper position. This week I want you to look at your mind in the same way. Is your mind tight, or is it loose? Tight Mind is what we want.

Tight Mind is confident, fearless, positive, focused. Loose mind is the opposite. Loose mind is negative, over-thinking, fearful, complaining, and worrying. This week, be aware of loose mind just as you are aware of loose body.

Follow some simple steps:

1. Pay attention to your self-talk. Are you saying positive or negative thoughts?

2. Notice how you feel inside your body. Usually when you feel “bad” your mind is loose and when you feel pumped your mind is tight. Allow your body to be the barometer of whether your mind is in proper or improper position.

3. Just as you would correct loose body, correct your loose mind. If you hear yourself saying negative thoughts, remind yourself to stop, and redirect your mind to a positive or at least neutral statement. Telling yourself, “it’s ok, this is making me stronger” is much better than, “i can’t do this, i might as well give up”.

Being aware of your mental position is the first step to changing it! Listen carefully to what you are saying to yourself and how you say it. Keep your mind strong and tight this week!
