Developing Early Turn and Control in a Pirouette on Bars

Coach Harris shows an excellent drill for developing an earlier turn for traditional pirouettes on uneven bars. At Tampa Bay Turners, they use this drill mainly with their 7's, 8's and 9's. His gymnasts do this drill from a seated/kneeling position. Coach Harris explains exactly why doing this exercise from seated/kneeling is far more beneficial than doing the technique from a jump or a step in.
