Alex McMurtry Defends her National Title with a 38.825!

Alex McMurtry of Richmond Olympiad and Region 7 came into today's 2012 J.O. National Championships as the reigning national champion in the all around, vault and floor. She performed under pressure and put together an incredible performance in her home state of Virginia. McMurtry hit every event, including a double twisting yurchenko on vault, to successfully defend her all around title. McMurtry posed the highest all around total out of all eight age divisions, a 38.825. She also won floor with a 9.85 and placed 2nd on vault (9.85), and 3rd on bars (9.525) and beam (9.60).
