Reigning US Champ Danell Leyva Rallies Back into 3rd for Day 1 of Winter Cup

2011 USA All Around Champion and World Parallel Bars Champion Danell Leyva got off to a rough start in today's 2012 Winter Cup with two uncharacteristic falls on pommel horse. He worked his way back into the mix with a great parallel bars routine scoring 16.00 to tie for the lead on the event. He then went to high bar and took a nasty fall on his rybalko. The arena fell silent as our nation's top gymnast clinched his knee. He brushed it off and finished the routine very well. He finished on floor with a solid 14.850 which puts him 2nd on the event and pushed him up to 3rd all around for the day.
