Romanian star Larisa Iordache has finally made her 2013 competition debut, competing this weekend in Quatar at the Doha World Challenge Cup. Iordache won a silver medal in the vault final with a double twisting yurchenko and a new tsukahara layout full. Iordache will compete for gold tomorrow in the balance beam and floor finals, qualifying in the top two on both events.

2011 World Vault Bronze medalist Thi Ha Thanh Phan of Vietnam is still going strong at age 21. She took the event title in the tightly contested final with a 14.825, vaulting a good double twisting yurchenko and putting a handspring rudi to her feet. Giulia Steingruber vaulted a great handspring rudi for third place.

Chinese bar specialist Tan Jiaxin performed an incredibly difficult routine including a hindorff+gienger combination! Britain's Ruby Harold claimed the silver with a delightfully unique, must-see routine. Harold has been named to the 2013 European Championships team and will be a threat for a medal on this event.

Watch Tan Jiaxin's impressive routine:

Britain's Gabby Jupp continues to impress. Less than one week after claiming the senior British all around title, Jupp won uneven bars bronze. Jupp will also compete in tomorrow's beam and floor finals.

There were no big surprises on the men's side. 10-time European medalist Flavius Koczi of Romania edged out Arthur Nory Oyakawa Mariano of Brazil for the floor title thanks to his superior 6.50 D score.

Reigning Olympic Pommel Horse Champion Krisztian Berki won yet another title. He did, however face close competition from Japan's Jumpei Oka who claimed silver.

Closing out today's competition, 2012 Olympic Rings Champion Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti claimed the rings title ahead of China's Liao Qiuhua. The two gymnasts had matching D scores of 6.70, however Nabarrete had the advantage in execution.

Competition concludes Friday with day two of men's and women's event finals.
