MyKayla Skinner is an elite gymnast from Gilbert, Arizona, who trains at Desert Lights Gymnastics.

Skinner’s elite gymnastics career began in 2010 as a junior, but her rise came in 2013 when she placed third on vault and floor and was sixth all-around at the 2013 P&G Championships. In 2014, four top-six finishes at the P&G Championships helped her make the Pan American Championship team.

In Toronto, at the 2014 Pan American Championships, Skinner won the all-around, vault and floor gold, in addition to the team gold. Her international success in Canada helped her make her first World Championship team.

At the 2014 World Championships, Skinner helped Team USA win the team gold, but she also won an individual medal, bronze on vault. Skinner was also close to medaling on floor, where she finished fourth.

In 2015, the Arizona native continued to be strong on vault and floor and was named an alternate to the World Championship team. In 2016, she won the Glasgow World Cup.

Skinner is best known for her difficult, daredevil gymnastics, especially on vault and floor, where she competes with a high difficulty score.
