FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup37th œTurnier der MeisterCottbus (GER), March 21 “ 24, 2013The 37th edition of this traditional gymnastics cup in Cottbus (GER) will take place March 21 - 24, 2013. Held for the third time under the FIG World Challenge Cup label, the event that lines up a whopping 170 gymnasts from 41 different nations representing all continents at the Lausitz Arena will again take place over four days this year, from March 21 “ 24.An impressive list of participants for this tournament includes numerous Olympic, World and Continental medallists and spectators can expect fierce competitions on every apparatus.London 2012 Olympic All-around Silver medallist Marcel Nguyen, who leads the German line-up, can count on the support of Cottbus™ local crowd. Former World Champion on Floor Eleftherios Kosmidis of Greece and his compatriot Vasileios Tsolakidis, 2011 World runner-up on Parallel Bars, are scheduled to compete on their specialty apparatus while Alexander Shatilov (ISR) is fierce competition on Floor. Still Rings will see Olympic Bronze medallist Matteo Morandi of Italy and the Netherland™s veteran Lambertus van Gelder giving it all. London 2012 finalist Alberto Busnari (ITA) will compete on Pommel Horse and Japan™s Koji Uematsu and Shogo Nonomura are registered for all six apparatus in the Men™s tournament.Catching our eye on the Women™s list of participants are Anna Dementyeva and Anastasia Grishina, members of Russia™s Silver medal winning teams at the Tokyo 2011 World Championships and the London 2012 Olympic Games respectively. Romania™s Larisa Iordache and Diana Bulimar, who helped the country to a team Bronze medal at London 2012, have unfortunately withdrawn from the event, but veteran Oksana Chusovitina returns to Cottbus to compete once again under the flag of Uzbekistan.
