The Doha World Cup was held from March 24th to the 26th in Doha, Qatar and gathered more than 100 prestigious gymnasts from 33 countries.
Among many notable performances, Switzerland's Giulia Steingruber came out with the vault and floor titles and Romanian legend Catalina Ponor took the beam title. See full results here.
Steingruber sustained a knee injury back at the 2015 World Championships during the vault final and began competing this March. She made an impressive comeback and this standout performance in Doha should give her confidence on her road to Rio. Switzerland finished 16th at Worlds and will be competing at the Test Event for a team berth to Rio.
Ponor has been returning from several injuries, which kept her out of the World Championships, and she will be a leader for team Romania as they head into the Rio Test Event, especially without their star Larisa Iordache who recently broke her finger and won't be competing at the Test Event.
