Internet went down in the arena so I was unable to do my usual live blogging of the competition. The meet officials are working to get the issue resolved. For now, here are my archived live updates taken during women's Subdivision 2 highlighted by Romania and Venzuela. 

 

End of Subdivision 1: Mexico finished with a wonderful routine for Elsa Garcia. Big tumbling including a stuck full in and double arabian. 
 

Alexa Moreno anchored the Mexico floor lineup with big tumbling, capable of much more. Her double saltos were all very open tucked. Powerful girl. 

Up next: subdivision 2 featuring Romania! 

 

Subdivision 2 girls marching in now. Venezuelan girls are wearing pretty black Dreamlight leotards with yellow, blue and red detailing at the top. 

Romanians are wearing a classic white leo. They will start on beam. 

 

1st routine for Romania - Racea BB: bhs+tuck full twist soild! switch side. front aerial+bhs+back tuck good. big switch side. whimpy switch leap. wobble on side aerial. side somi w/ straight legs. roundoff 2.5. Great 1st routine! 14.733

 

Venzuela UB: Blind full+gienger. blind to jaeger. lost momentum, had to re-kip. Fall on DLO dismount. 

 

Bulimar BB: bhs+2ft layout. bhs+layout very fluid. Fall on side somi. switch+back tuck. She is so tiny! Bhs+bhs+double pike, stick! 14.066

 

Girl from Finland powerful dbl arabian first pass on FX! double tuck. 

 

Ponor BB: She's the 2004 Olympic champ on this event and back for more. Here she goes... switch half. rndoff+2ft lay. onodi+bhs+whip, wow. switch+bh full. front aerial+bhs lay. Pike full in, landed low. KILLED IT! WOW!

 

Score for Ponor 15.00. I expected higher... must've gotten killed for that dismount. 

 

Lopez UB: I missed the beginning, no!! She had an amazing routine in podium training.
here's what I saw: jaeger. overshoot. Coach Savage looks nervous… Double front dismount to her feet! Savage leaps in the air! Team goes wild!

 

Porgras BB: Defending World Champ here. Bhs+bhs+2 ft lay small wobble. switch ring foot slid off the beam, I thought she was a goner but she put her hand down and stays up there! split+scissone gorgeous. bhs+bhs dbl pike. The rest of the set was great. Will she final? 

 

Haidu BB: bhs+tuck full. whimpy switch side. switch+back tuck. bhs+bhs double pike.

 

Defending World BB Champion Ana Porgras will not make beam finals due to the 2 per country rule! Sad day. Ponor and Racae scored higher. 

 

Haidu FX: 1.5 thru to triple full. low pike full in but gets it around. Crowd clapping along. Double pike to close. 13.733 (5.50/8.233)

 

Chelaru FX: full in. whip to triple slight form break but gets it around. Missed the 2rd pass… double pike to close. The Romanians look good. 

 

Ivet Rojas of Venezuela fell off beam on punch front.

 

3 in a row roundoff layout mounts for Venezuela. Yikes, and now 3 in a row falls. This time Bieceno. 

 

Porgras FX: double layout excellent. 2.5 punch front legs a big sloppy. perfect double turn leg right next to her head. Double tuck hop back. Beautiful balletic choreography. Switch ring+switch half. Double pike and hopped both feet oob. 

 

Bulimar FX: near stuck double layout! dbl pike. pike full in. Wow, big routine for such a tiny girl. Double tuck to close. 

 

Ponor FX: double layout knees slightly bent on the 2nd flip. whip+whip+bhs+pike full in landed low. Triple twist legs extra sloppy. She did a better routine in podium training. 

 

Score for Ponor on FX is 14.20 (5.80D score). Racea did not do floor. 

 

After 2, Ponor leads the Romanian team with 29.20, then Bulimar 28.466, Porgras 28.266, and Haidu 28.266 ahead of Maksiuta from the first session who had  27.749 after 2. 

 

Pogras VT: stuck yurchenko full! Easy vault, cleany done

 

Dina Madir (CRO) BB: front aerial+bhs. side somi. wobble on full turn. fall on punch front. 

 

Chelaru VT: yurchenko double twist stick! Legs incredibly sloppy. 2 in a row vault sticks for the Romanians. They'll be top 8 no problem. 

 

Racea VT: yuchenko double, more sloppy legs. step backward. 

 

Haidu VT: another sloppy double twist. landed with chest low, step to the side. Ponor will anchor. Haidu score: 13.366

 

Ponor VT: yurchenko double, good block off the table, better in the air than her teammates. stick! 14.766. 

 

Alex Choon (POR) BB: wobble on front aerial. bhp lay stepout nice. split+wolf. fall on side aerial. seems a bit timid up there. Full turn leg at face, and another fall.

 

Pena (VEN) FX: excellent double L turn. high dbl tuck. rndoff 1.5+layout. double twist hop back. double pike. Her teammates love it! Lopez is next.

 

Lopez FX: near stuck full in! whip to triple, wow! Double pike hop back. Clean 2.5 twist to close. Choreograpy right on the music. Very well done. She looks great.

 

Erceg (CRO) BB: double turn! jump 1.5 turn, that was unique. 

 

Ugh. Just got the news on Alicia Sacramone. Torn achilles. This is horrible. I was afraid that's what it was when I saw it but did not want to believe it. 

 

Bulimar UB: first up for the Romanians in the final rotation. Missed her shaposh. Its amazing she can even do that skill with how small she is. Back up, blind full+tkatchev. overshoot+hect shoot. stalder, free hip, giants, full in. 

 

Racea UB: hesitation on stalder 1.5 but gets is around and connects to jaeger. Survives the rest of the routine and dismounts with double front. 

 

Jessica Lopez 13.566 for a yurchenko full vault. 

 

Porgras UB: inbar stalder in low bar to start. 1.5+jaeger. blind full+overshoot. lets go way too early on DLO and falls to her knees. Not her best day.

 

Chelaru UB: free hip+full turn+inbar ginger. jaeger. overshoot. toe shoot. free hit. hideous double layout from this angle, but she stood it up. 

 

Erceg (CRO) FX: lively music! double tuck first pass. clean 2.5 twist for the 3rd pass. Switch ring+switch side. double pike to close. Good routine, she sells it well.
