Both teams are undefended this season and will look to hold on to that record following this meet. Q: With No. 1 Oklahoma coming in on Friday, there's probably not a lot you need to say to get the team fired up. But are you looking forward to seeing where you measure up against arguably the nation's best team?
A: These types of competitions are absolutely what we need to be doing with our program. We need these meets so that when we get to the end of the year, we know we belong there. Due to our conference schedule, we're constricted a little because we have to face Big Ten teams and can't go out to face non-conference opponents as much as we'd like, but despite that, we've still been able to maintain our relationship with other top teams like Georgia, Utah and Oklahoma. When we do have an opening, I always try to make sure that we get a competition like this, because it's meets like these that are going to prepare you for the national championship. You have to be able to measure yourself against the best teams in the country. That's why we started out at Georgia and why we're going to Utah in a few weeks. I know the team is excited to face Oklahoma. They're a fantastic team that'll give us a great challenge.
