Best Gymnastike Gold Series of 2014 - #3: Simone Biles, Lonely at the Top
 
As 2014 draws to a close, we are going back over the very best moments, meets, videos, and athletes from the entire year. Today we are listing our best Gymnastike Gold series of the year. In third place is Simone Biles: Lonely at the Top.

 
This two part series features an exclusive behind the scenes look at Simone Biles in April of this year. In episode one, Biles and coach Aimee Boorman talk about their gym change and the emotional and mental adjustments. At this point in time, Biles and Boorman were at AIM Athletics but Biles’ family was in the process of creating and building their now current gym- World Champions Centre. 
 
In episode two, we go behind the scenes with Simone as she recovers from injury, we expand on her relationship with Martha Karolyi, and Boorman reveals for the first time that Simone has made the decision to commit to train for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
 
Throughout the series, we also show you a very real look into a world champion’s typical practice, including the ups and downs that come with any elite level sport. Boorman and Biles have a unique relationship and they both know when to joke around and be friends but also when it’s time to focus and get work done.
