USAG Announces 2015 Hall Of Fame Class

USA Gymnastics has announced the 2015 USAG Hall of Fame class. The class includes nine individuals from six different gymnastics disciplines and the induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14 during the 2015 P&G Championships in Indianapolis.

Among the inductees are two women’s artistic gymnasts- Terin Humphrey and Mohini Bhardwaj. Both gymnasts were members of the 2004 U.S. Olympic team that won silver in Athens, Greece.

Humphrey trained at Great American Gymnastics Express with coaches Al and Armine Fong. She was on the national team for seven years. At the 2004 Olympics, Humphrey earned an individual silver medal on bars as well as the team silver medal. Humphrey was also on the 2002 and 2003 World Championship team. In 2003, the team won gold.

Humphrey continued her gymnastics career in NCAA where she competed for the University of Alabama. In college, she won the uneven bars NCAA title as a freshman as well as a junior. She now serves as the athlete representative and works alongside Martha Karolyi on the U.S. selection committee.

Bhardwaj trained at All-Olympia Gymnastics Center and was coached by Chris Waller. Bhardwaj was named captain of the 2004 U.S. Olympic team. She qualified for floor events finals at the Olympics and finished sixth in the finals. She also finished eighth in the all-around qualifications, where the top 24 move on to all-around finals. However, because of the two per country rule, Bhardwaj did not qualify for all-around finals as teammates Carly Patterson and Courtney Kupets placed before her.

Bhardwaj was on the senior national team for 10 years and competed at numerous international meets. She competed at the 1997 and 2001 World Championships and in 2001 she won a bronze medal on vault. Bhardwaj also competed in NCAA gymnastics from 1998-2001 at UCLA. During her time as a Bruin, the team won back to back national titles- in 2000 and 2001. She earned 11 All-American honors and was inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame. Bhardwaj currently owns, operates, and serves as club director for Oregon Olympic Athletics.
