2. There is a two per country max so if a gymnast finished in the top 24 but was not the top two from their country, they aren’t eligible to compete. This affected Mykayla Skinner from USA who finished with the sixth highest score, Madison Kocian from USA who had the 14th highest score, and Ekatarina Kramarenko from Russia who finished with the 15th highest score. This worked out positively for Georgia-Rose Brown of Australia, Ana Filipa Martins of Portugal, and Laura Waem of Belgium who are eligible to compete after the three above were eliminated.

3. Simone Biles is the favorite by far to win. She is the reigning World Champion and in our poll, 79.68% of participants picked her to win. If Biles wins, she will be the second U.S. woman to win back to back all-around titles. Shannon Miller was the first when she won in 1993 and 1994.

4. Kyla Ross finished second to Biles at last year’s Worlds and she will be looking to medal again. She qualified in fifth, boosted by her 15.1 on vault and with her 13.8 on floor hurting her all-around score the most. After yesterday’s team finals win, Ross joined her 2012 Olympic teammates as the only U.S. women to have won both Olympic and Worlds team golds.

5. Mustafina has won the most World Championships medals out of all of the competitors. Yesterday’s team bronze tallied her ninth medal. Her first medals were at the 2010 World Championships where she won team and all-around gold, and silver on vault, bars, and floor.

6. Previous World All-Around Champions are Biles (2013), Mustafina (2010), Vanessa Ferrari (2006).
