American Classic- Junior Elites - Part 4

The 2014 American Classic will feature thirty junior elite gymnasts. The American Classic will be held at the ranch in Huntsville, Texas on July 5th. The majority of the athletes competing in the American Classic are veterans of the ranch, through the developmental camps or National team camp, and they are very familiar with the equipment and environment. The American Classic will serve as one of two qualifiers for the P&G Gymnastics Championships.

Megan Skaggs is a 15 year old junior elite gymnast who trains at Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta under coaches Irina Podgornaya and Jacobo Giron. In 2013, Megan competed at the American Classic where she placed 5th all-around. Her career highlights include: 2012 Secret Classic- 8th on floor, 2012 Visa Championships -7th on floor, 2011 US Challenge- Beam Champion, 2nd place floor, 3rd all-around. Megan’s favorite event is beam where she enjoys learning new skills and competing. She has goals to represent her country in international competitions. Megan will look to use her experience at the elite level to her advantage as she strives to qualify for the 2014 P&G Championships. 

 
Maggie Musselman is a first year junior elite gymnast who trains at Hill's Gymnastics. Maggie is 14 years old and is coached by Kelli Hill. In 2013 Maggie attended developmental camps at the ranch. At the 2013 JO Nationals, she place 7th on bars, 8th on beam and 3rd all-around. Maggie performed at the 2013 Open Massilia where she performed some big skills including an Arabian Double Front, Triple Full on floor, and a triple flight series on beam. We hope to see Maggie performing these amazing skills at American Classic to help her qualify to the 2014 P&G Championships. 
 

 

Anastasia Webb is a junior elite gymnast who trains at Illinois Gymnastics Institute Inc. Webb is coached by Todd Gardner. At the 2014 National Elite Qualifier, Anastasia placed 4th in the all-around, 3rd on vault and 2nd on floor. Anastasia participated in elite developmental camps during the 2012-2013 seasons.

Lexy Ramler is a junior elite gymnast who trains at KidSport Gymnastics Center in Minnesota. In 2013, Lexy qualified to the Level 10 JO National Championships where she won the bars and all-around event titles in the Junior A Division. Lexy also competed at the US National Championships where her scores qualified her to the 2013 Secret Classic. In February of 2012, she qualified to junior international elite with a 52.100 at the Developmental Camp. Lexy will look to use her experience at the elite level as an advantage at this year’s American Classic. Lexy competed at last year’s P&G Championships and is looking to qualify again this year with a strong performance at the American Classic. Her favorite events are bars and beam. Lexy has set a goal to make a US National Team. 
 
 
First year junior elite gymnast Kaitlin DeGuzman trains at Metroplex Gymnastics. Kaitlin is 13 years old and is coached by Marnie Futch and Gina Quinlan. At the 2014 JO Nationals, she placed 5th on bars, 1st on beam and 3rd all-around. Kaitlin qualified to junior international elite at the May Elite Qualifier. She placed 1st on beam with a 14.0 and 3rd all-around. Kaitlin brings beautiful lines and great form to her gymnastics. Her favorite events are bars, beam and floor.

Bailey Ferrer is a 2nd year junior elite gymnast who trains at Orlando Metro under Head Coach Jeff Wood. In 2013, Bailey qualified junior international elite at the June National Qualifier where she took 3rd place on vault and 11th all-around. Bailey also competed at the 2013 Nastia Liukin Cup. Bailey’s favorite event is floor where she enjoys competing and showing off new skills. She has set goals to be a member on the Junior and Senior National Teams and compete in the 2020 Olympics.

2nd year junior elite gymnast Molly Frack trains at Parkettes National Gymnastics Center.  Molly trains under Bill and Donna Strauss. Molly qualified to junior elite at the 2013 June Development Camp. Molly loves floor where she can train new skills and enjoys competing. At last year’s American Classic, Molly finished 2nd on floor and 3rd on beam. Molly qualified to last year’s P&G Championships. She is looking to qualify and compete for her 2nd straight year at Championships.
