The 2014 USA Gymnastics level 10 season will culminate this week in Mississippi with the Junior Olympic National Championships, and Gymnastike will be on-site for coverage of the event!
 
This year’s J.O. Nationals will feature nearly 400 of the countries best level 10 gymnasts. The competition takes place May 8-12 at the Jackson Convention Center and is hosted by USA Gymnastics.

2014 Competition Schedule:
May 8   – All Day Podium Training 
May 9 – 11:30 a.m. Junior and Senior A
               5 p.m. Junior and Senior B
May 10 – 11:30 a.m. Junior and Senior C
               5 p.m. Junior and Senior D

 
Event History
Did you know that every member of the gold medal winning "Fierce Five" competed at a JO National competition? It's true! Kyla Ross is a former JO All Around Champion and Jordyn Wieber is a former JO National silver medalist. Four years before sticking her Amanr in the London Team Final, McKayla Maroney won the 2008 JO National vault title. Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas also competed at JO Nationals. Other elite stars who competed in the JO program include Olympic Champion Shawn Johnson and Olympic silver medalist Samantha Peszek. We'll be on the lookout for future Olympians in Jackson!
 
What’s at stake?
The best level 10 gymnasts in the country are battling for national titles in the all around as well as all four individual events in each of the eight age division. The top four all around finishers in each age division earn a spot on the JO National team and receive invitations to attend the JO National team training camp at the Karolyi Ranch.
