Friday’s meet against George Washington was all about improvement for the Missouri Tigers.  With numerous personal bests, the sixth highest scoring bars total in program history, and a season high team score, the Tigers are finally showing their true potential.

Competition started on vault with junior Rachel Updike sticking a beautiful yurchenko full, scoring a 9.925.

For the Colonials, Chelsea Raineri led the team with a 9.875.

Moving onto Bars is where the Tigers truly shined and began to pull away.  Three gymnasts achieved career-highs and junior Rebecca Johnson won the event with a beautiful 9.9 routine.  Overall, the team totaled a 49.300 and the lowest score counted was a 9.825.

Betsy Zander and Kiera Kenney headed the Colonials on bars, both scoring a 9.8.

Missouri freshman Sasha Sander and GW senior Betsy Zander tied for the beam title with a 9.825.

Angie Kern and Anna Bowers proved just how important the freshman class is to the Missouri Tigers gymnastics team. Angie won floor with an engaging 9.875 routine, while Anna was right behind her with a 9.85.

Alex DeMoura, Chelsea Raineri, and Taylor Henderson all scored the top mark, 9.725, for GW on floor.

The Tigers ultimately cruised right past the Colonials and won the meet 195.725 to 193.700.
