No. 9 Georgia welcomes No. 2 LSU

The 9th ranked Georgia Gym Dogs welcome the 2nd ranked LSU Tigers to Stegeman Coliseum this Friday night for an SEC battle. Georgia is looking for their first win of the season, after falling to Oklahoma and Stanford this past weekend on the road. LSU is looking to continue their strong start with a win on the road over a top ranked opponent.

Series history
This is the 89th all-time meeting between Georgia and LSU, with the Gym Dogs holding a 66-20-2 edge overall and a 21-3 mark in Athens. In 31 dual meets against LSU, Georgia is 23-7-1. In recent history, these two teams met twice last season during the regular season with LSU taking both of those meets. Georgia is looking to change that pattern as they are excited to be home on their own floor this Friday night.

Georgia
Georgia will be led by Senior Lindsey Cheek who is off to a strong start to her final season. Three Georgia freshmen made their collegiate debuts last weekend and will make their first appearance in front of a home crowd this weekend. Ashlyn Broussard performed routines on vault, beam and floor, Morgan Reynolds competed on beam and floor, and Kiera Brown performed on the uneven bars. Georgia has seen great team scores on vault and bars in their first two meets. Georgia will need improvements on beam and floor in order to gain their first victory of the season and an SEC win. As a team, Georgia is ranked in the top 10 on three events: No. 7 on vault, No. 4 on bars and No. 8 on beam.

LSU
LSU will be faced with their first road meet of the year and dealing with the atmosphere of opposing the Gym Dogs crowd. LSU will look to their top ranked junior all-arounders Rheagan Courville and Jessie Jordan to continue the Tigers best season since 2005. LSU has looked strong on all events as they are ranked in the top ten in all four events (No. 2 on vault, No. 3 on beam, No. 3 on floor and No. 10 on bars.)
