Kenzo Shirai of Japan is the clear favorite for this title, competing in his very first World Championships at age 17. Shirai put on a twisting clinic during the qualification round and even closed out his floor routine with a quadruple twist! This skill will now be named for him in the FIG Code of Points. His D score alone makes him a lock for a medal.
Diego Hypolito is in a hunt for his third World Floor title, and All Around Champion Kohei Uchimura is the reigning World Floor Champion. He threw an upgraded tucked triple double to take the event title in Tokyo. Dan Purvis of GBR told us in his post-qualifying interview that he, too plans to throw that pass for the first time in today's final.
USA's Jake Dalton and Steve Legendre have an outside shot at a medal. Both were displeased with their landings during the qualification round, so they will both have room for improvement.

McKayla Maroney comes in as the defending World Vault Champion and the clear favorite for the title. Maroney was nearly perfect in podium training (watch here). This year's field, however, is deeper than years past. USA teammate and All Around Champion Simone Biles could give her a run for her money with extra clean execution. Plus, 2008 Olympic Vault Champion Hong Un Jong is back and landed an Amanar and a Cheng in qualifying. She even submitted a yurchenko triple for skill evaluation for the FIG Code of Points. If she throws it in tomorrow's vault final she will be the first woman to do so in international competition!

Shockingly, reigning World and Olympic Champion Krisztian Berki of Hungary missed the final after a fall in qualifications. So this year, it's anyone's title for the taking. Alberto Busnari of Italy is the favorite after qualifications with a massive 7.10 D score, but Max Whitlock of Great Britain has a more difficult routine planned for the final and can push a 7.0 D score.

Aliya Mustafina is the defending Olympic Champion on Uneven bars and is one to watch in finals. Yao Jinnan posted the top score in qualifications and carries the highest start value in the world on this event. Make sure to watch for her Gaylord release! Kyla Ross is a gorgeous bar worker with clean lines. She carries a D score of 6.40 and always earns high execution. Ross had the second highest score in qualifications with a 15.133. Huidan Huang also scored a 15.133 in the qualification rounds and with a 6.6 difficulty rating, Huang is one to watch in the finals. Ruby Harrold of Great Britain competes an incredibly unique routine reminiscent of Beth Tweddle. Don't blink or you will miss Harrold perform a stoop shoot and a Bhardwaj transition. Harrold qualified in seventh with a 14.600.
