Raisman on her Return to the Gym

2012 Olympic Champion Aly Raisman is back in the gym and spoke with reporters from the Boston Globe about the decision to resume training. Aly was the most decorated U.S. gymnast at the 2012 London Olympics winning three medals including two gold and one bronze.  Aly enjoyed a much needed break after her success in London and took advantage of opportunities made available by her new celebrity status. Raisman recently appeared as a contestant on ABC's Dancing with the Stars where she was paired with Mark Ballas, an experience that Raisman described as "life changing".

While Raisman enjoyed her much needed break, she realized that she still has the desire to try for another Olympic team. "It took me a long time, but one morning I woke up and said, I'm ready to come back" said Raisman.  Aly will be 22 by the time 2016 rolls around is aware of the difficult journey ahead. The last U.S. female gymnasts to successfully return to the Olympics were Amy Chow and Dominique Dawes in 2000. Raisman is ready for the challenge. "If it doesn't go my way, at least I've done what I always wanted to do.¨
