Maroney Vaults back into Action

McKayla Maroney
vaulted herself back into elite competition today at the 2013 Secret US Classic. Maroney started her meet on the floor exercise where she debuted not only new choreography, but some new passes as well. Maroney competed a double layout, a 2 1/2 punch layout, a tucked double arabian, and a double pike to close. Maroney received a 14.35 for the event.

Maroney then moved straight to the vault where she competed both the famous Amanar and a Mustafina. Maroney looked as fresh as when jetting off to London one year ago completing both vaults with ease. Maroney earned a 15.6, the highest vault score of the night on the Amanar, and a 15.25 on the Mustafina.
