2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist McKayla Maroney has confirmed that she will compete just two events Satruday at the Secret US Classic meet: vault and floor.

The Classic marks Maroney's first competition since the 2012 London Olympic Games.

In a keek video from the airport on Thursday, Maroney shares her plans for the weekend as she travels with her AOGC coaches Arthur Akopyan and Galina Marinova

The Classic also marks Maroney's first competition since undergoing three lower leg surgeries. The third and final surgery took place December 6th to remove two screws from her leg which repaird a Tibial Tubercle fracture. While it
is surprising to see her already competing the power events, her event selection indicates that she is fully recovered.

On floor, Maroney has a brand new routine planned for the 2013 season. She has not competed floor since the 2012 Olympic Trials where she placed fifth on the event. Watch for Maroney's signature 3.5 twist and gorgeous presentation.

However, the real showstopper will be when Maroney takes to the runway. On vault, Maroney will need to prove she is still capable of being the best in the world on the event. Maroney easily clinched the 2011 World Vault title. In 2012, she settled for silver in the Olympic final after uncharacteristically sitting down her second vault, the Mustafina. If Maroney can return to top form, she will again be the favorite for the World title.

Gymnastike is on-site in Chicago all weekend providing up to the minute coverage of the 2013 Secret US Classic, the first big elite meet of the summer season.
