Anadia Cup: Day 2 Results

The 2013 Anadia World Challenge Cup concluded on Sunday in Portugal with an exciting final day of competition. Romania dominated the women's competition, winning three gold medals courtesy of 2012 Olympians, Larisa Iordache and Diana Bulimar

Iordache impressed the judges on beam with her jam-packed routine that included two full twisting saltos (bhs tuck full and R/O layout full) and a difficulty rating of 6.9.  Iordache's score of 15.650 was enough to hold off the top qualifier, Chunsong Shang of China, who took silver with a score 15.150. Diana Bulimar of Romania, won the bronze medal with a score of 14.650.

The Romanian success continued on floor exercise as Iordache and Bulimar tied for first place, each earning a score of 14.650. Iordache's routine included a piked full-in and a quadruple turn. Bulimar showcased her powerful tumbling opening her routine with a huge double layout.  Chunsong Shang of China finished in third place with a score of 14.125. Shang opened her routine with a one and half through to triple twist immediate - punch front, and showcased her flexibility in her gorgeous leaps.

Enrique Sepulveda of Chile won the title on vault with a final score of 14.925 followed by Igor Radilov of Ukraine in second with a score of 14.837. The 2012 Olympic bronze medalist performed a gorgeous first vault (handspring double front-half) only to stumble badly on his second vault, a tsuk double pike. Diego Hypolito of Brazil won bronze with a score of 14.825. US Olympian Sam Mikulak tied for seventh place with Marius Berbecar of Romania.

Anton Fokin of Uzbekistan placed first on parallel bars with a score of 15.575. Jossimar Moreno of Columbia won the silver with a score of 15.200 followed by Samuel Piasecky of Slovakia in third with a score of 15.100.

Sam Mikulak concluded his busy weekend by clinching the gold medal on high bar with a score of 15.275. Mikulak put an exclamation mark on his routine with a stuck layout double double earning a fist pump and a huge smile from the American. Angel Rivera of Puerto Rico took silver with a score of 14.60 and Igor Pakhomenko of Russia won the bronze with a 13.925.
