Aly Raisman Finished Fourth on Dancing with the Stars

2012 Olympic team and floor exercise gold-medalist Aly Raisman and her partner Mark Ballas finished fourth in the 16th season of Dancing with the Stars.

Unfortunately, the disappointment of fourth place is familiar territory for Raisman. Always the underdog, she finished fourth in the 2011 World Championships All Around Finals. A year later, she was heartbroken to finish fourth yet again in the 2012 Olympic All Around Finals after a tie breaker with Russia's Aliya Mustafina took her off the medal stand. Regardless, Raisman had a great run on the show. On last night's results show, partner Ballas remarked that, "Aly never complained, she was always positive, and always excited to be there."

Aly and Mark advanced to the finals where they were the first of the four couples eliminated on Tuesday's results show. Aly and Mark danced three times on Monday's performance show, receiving scores of 28 for their Freestyle, 30 for the Samba and 3 for the Cha Cha Cha Relay.

Country singer Kellie Pickler was crowned Dancing with the Stars champion while actress Zendaya finished in second and football player Jacoby Jones in third.

What's next for Raisman? She's stated that she plans to return to gymnastics in the future and hopes to be in the mix for 2016, but she has yet to set a date to get back in the gym. As of Monday, every member of the Fierce Five except for Aly - Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, and Kyla Ross have returned to training. Ross has already competed this season and we expect to see both Wieber and Maroney compete in 2013. Douglas and coach Liang Chow are targeting competition in 2014.
