No longer competing for individual glory, gymnasts from across the country united in their clubs to fight together for the British Team title. After an action packed day of gymnastics, it was The Academy in the end who bought home the gold. The team of Ruby Harrold, Imogen Chan, Phoebe Turner, April Maslen, Lucy Brett and Maisie Dodds stormed to victory over a mark ahead of their nearest rivals with 156.050. Ruby produced some solid performances to lead the team to success and also take the all-around title.

The team from Heathrow took the silver (155.000), showing incredible team spirit as they moved around the apparatus, the team of Loriah James, Danusia Francis, Laura Mitchell, Mollie Payton and Charlotte Lindsley fought on every piece to deservedly take the second podium place.

It was the Park Wrekin A team took the final medal spot (153,300). Led by 2013 Welsh Champion Georgina Hockenhull, the team of Eshe Bernard, Alice Kinsella, Georgina Clements and Rhyannon Jones produced some fantastic performances to take the bronze but unfortuantey had to count numerous falls on beam which hindered their chances of finishing higher.

Other notable performances came from South Durham’s Pink Ladies who finished in 5th. First year junior, Amy Tinkler competed a stunning floor routine and although unsuccessful in competition where she counted a fall, showed the arena in warm up two incredibly high double twisting Yurchenko’s on the vault which display unbelievable difficulty for her age. Teammate and second year junior, Jade Armstrong also showed upgrades with a beautiful full twisting double pike on the floor.

Unfortunately the team from Notts team had to count several falls across the apparatus and didn’t make the podium this year, finishing in 4th but with such depth and talent in their team they show great promise for the future.
